hi all,
i added a new media server to the existing backup environment. its a windows server commissioned in AWS.
it is showing up as a media server in the backup environment but not in the selection list when i try to add it as a cloud storage server.
where am i going wrong please? what all can i check?

Is NetBackup CloudStore Service Container (nbcssc) running on the media server?
Have you deployed a security certificate for that media server?
To deploy a cert, run this on the master server.
install_path\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bpnbaz -ProvisionCert <media_server_host_name>

hi,
yes the service is running and certificate deployed.
i have followed the admin guide for cloud and made the necessary changes.
still i think i am missing out something. been reviewing it since last night. have logged a call too.
anything else i need to check please?

Your NetBackup license key may be missing cloud storage. Although included in Enterprise Disk and Data Protection Optimization licences, you may need a newer key to actually get the feature enabled. BR Andrew

Are any of the master or media servers running on Windows 2008 ?
I remember seeing a limitation about it not running well on that platform, probably need Windows 2012.
