hello
symantic had sent me a link to 6.5.4 but after i installed it i found the version is 6.5 only. is there any update to make it 6.5.4 or new installation is required?
cat /usr/openv/netbackup/version
HARDWARE LINUX_RH_X86
VERSION NetBackup 6.5

Ensure that you have extracted all the patches (Server, client and preferrably Java as well) before running the patch install. If you select the Server patch, it will automatically install the client patch first.
All of this is in the README Technote where you download the patches from....

go to /usr/openv/pack , do ls -lrt and send output

there is no such directory /usr/openv/pack
my installation is in /usr/openv

Is this a Master or Media server?
What is the patch name that you installed?
For a NBU server, you need to install the Client and Server patch.
If only the client patch was installed, only /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/version will be updated.
The Server patch will update /usr/openv/netbackup/version.
