Importing San array snapshots into SF

Hello
I have a small puzzle I am hoping someone can help me with :)
I have a VG on my server attached to a storage array (EVA800) named "vgsan"
When I go into my array software and create a array based snapshot and present it to my server.
Veritas reads the VTOC and sees that the disk is part of "vgsan"
I want to mount this snapdisk on the server as a different volume group example "vgsnap"
How do I change the volume group identifier on the disk to I can import this disk as "vgsnap" instead of "vgsan". I tried renaming it during the import command but it fails because the original disk is imported on the server as "vgsan".

############################################################################################
vxdg -n vgsnap import vgsan
VxVM vxdg ERROR V-5-1-587 Disk group vgsan: import failed: Disk group exists and is imported
############################################################################################

I need a way of getting the snap volume imported and online without taking the other volume group offline.

Thank you in advance
Clayton
