I have been unable to create a raid-5 array with a stripe size greater than 128 sectors (64kb). I keep getting some "unknown error" with a string which I do not have with me right now to post. Is there some kind of limitation with Veritas Volume Manager with Raid-5 arrays? I successfully created striped arrays (Raid-0) with Volume Manager with stripe size as high as 2048 sectors, but the largest I can do with Raid-5 is 128 sectors. This is all with Symantec Storage Foundation/Veritas Volume Manager 5.0. If anyone knows if this is some kind of limitation with Volume Manager or has any input, please let me know.
