vxdg free showing wrong values

Has anyone seend the vxdg free command showing that a whole LUN is free whereas all the disk space is added to volumes.

Also, I've added a brand new LUN from an EMC Clariion array and the GUI shows it as 0% used and vxdisk list <disk> show the space as available but vxdg free show it as all in use. When I try and create a volume on it I get the following error:

VxVM vxassist ERROR V-5-1-752 No volume can be created within the given constraints

I have tried dd'ing to the disk to wipe the label  and recreate it in VxVM but I still get the same issue.

Note: I am using VxVM 4.1 MP2 on Solaris 10.

i had seen a similar issue, and was able to fix it with the help of the command..

# vxconfigd -k -x cleartempdir

the reason for this is a hung or misbehaving vxconfigd..
