Hi there,
I am a healthcare provider with a domain network that comprises :
Windows Server 2008R2, RAID 5, GPT disks (3X2TB)
I back-up on site on an external Iosafe drive via Macrium software
Per HIPAA requirement, I need to encrypt my data on my server
I have purchased Symantec WDE (not yet installed)
-I want to encrypt my data with PGP and back them up on my Iosafe
-Currently, I do 2 daily incremental back-up
-I need to be able to recover my data in case of server failure
-Ideally, I would want to use a powerfull worksation that I have on my network as a bare metal recovery server
-The recovery needs to be fast (1-2 hrs max)
Q: What product do I need (remember, encrypted GPT disks) ?
Thanks
Fabe

Well SSR is sector based backup product and Backup Exec is file level backup product.
Both Symantec System Recovery ( SSR ) and Backup Exec perform restore anywhere.
SSR will restore all your drive ( minimum 3 ) in ( min ) 2-3 hours for Backup Exec you need to install Windows and then perform a restore. This may take a longer time.
Since I am an SSR expert , I am sharing the article for SSR and PGP restore.

SSR only performs drive based backup and restore. For file and folder restore it is limited to backing up root folders and does not allow , sub directories restore.
However , once the "drives" are backed up , it allows you to "mount" the recovery points and allow the restore of single files and folders.
Also you have 60 days trail to test the backup and restore.
Hope this helps!!
