Error EC8F1F59: Cannot assign the name: External Drive to E:\.

I get the following errors when trying to define a name for my external hard drive:

-Info 6C8F1C25: Cannot retrieve backup job properties.
--Error EC8F1F59: Cannot assign the name: External Drive to E:\.

If I select one of the local hard drives as a destination it works fine.  The E drive is an external 750GB hard drive connected via eSATA.  I have checked the COM security for Allow Local Launch and Everyone has that permission.  I have also checked to make sure all services are listed and running.

I'm leaning more towards Reinstalling the  the SymSnap service.  I've had to do this a couple of times when using version 8.0

Also, Have you tried assining a different and/or shorter name, i.e. Ext-Drv

I reinstalled the service by doing the following commands:

CD "\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Shared\Drivers"
sc delete SymSnapService
SymSnapService.exe /service

That seemed to fix the problem.  It didn't even prompt me for a name for the drive this time.  When I had the problem I did try changing the name of the drive to "Ext" in case it didn't like the space or length.
