How to build up a Indexing Server?

Hi All,

I have installed a indexing server on manager server.

When I create a backup job, I can select the indexing server when I set the destination and enabled the search by Google Desktop and Backup Exec Retrieve in backup job. BUt I cannot see anything in Backup Exec Retrieve.

Do they have any idea about my case?

Ivan,

Be sure that even though the Indexing server is on the manager server (good for very small or testing environments) please be sure that the storage location even if local to the Manager server as well is seen as a share (e.g. \\localhost\share_name) Secondly, in Manager, choosing TOOLS | OPTIONS | Indexing Servers | Backup Exec System Recovery do you see:

- Your indexing server listed there
- Last publish date within an hour or so
- Connection status as Available/idle
- Under View client logs | Event log do you have informational events indicating that the indexing service has successfully parse through an image file (should be a pair of events showing indexing and then successful for each image)?
