Recover computer from a restore point stored in remote location

After submitting a recover computer job from altiris management console, the client's notebook began the reboot process. Once it was booted up into SSR environment, error showed "info 6C95002C".

By checking the network adapter configuration, it only presented the wifi card and that was the only allowed selection to be configured.

I tried disabling the card within the previous windows session before rebooting but it still using the wifi card as the default network ada[ter.

Is there a way to force the SSR environment to only recoginze the wired LAN card or is there any other workarounds?

*Before this, there was another error " 0xC0000017" and I had to manually turned off  Memory Execution Prevention in BIOS settings.. Any workarounds for this too without disabling MEP?

You tried both Vista and Windows 7 drivers for the NIC installed ?

Have you tried to disable the WLAN card in the bios ?

Yes, disabled in BIOS as well. Problem persists..

Hm, do you see the wired NIC in the SRD ?

JSzeto

Unfortunately.. nope.

The only choice/selection would be the wifi card..

Maybe then you need to add the driver for the wired NIC to the SRD ?

The SRD was installed on client's notebook during the lightrestore installation delivered from Altiris. Where do I begin modifying/adding the NIC driver?

Let's forget modifying the original source and I would like to add the NIC driver only to this client's installed SRD driver's list, where is the correct path?

Hm, first you should boot to the SRD and try to use the drvload utility to find the right driver. Since the SRD is installed i think you have only the option of running those commands by hand.

so what exactly are the commands i need to run?

First you need to copy the driver to running SRD, then have a look here:

I added the driver manually by that command but still no good. Only the wifi adapter is present..

For which OS was the driver you added ?

I actually tried to add a XP driver.. and now when I think of it it seems not correct..

Thats right, try a Vista/W2K8 driver or a Windows 7 driver !

After trying a few more drivers, problem still here -> only wifi card is present..

Please advise any other workarounds.

WOW, the vista driver works..

Again, how do I implement the driver to the SRD environement so each time I don't need to "load a driver" ?..

You need to build a custom SRD and add that driver to it.

Guess this is what you are referring into:

And I will update my result later in the future.

Thanks for all your help.
