Reinstalling, saving jobs or recreate?

Per recent KB's saying we need to uninstall and reinstall with the latest patch 8.03 how do we go about saving the job setups so we don't have to recreate them? If we uninstall and reinstall are the jobs retained? Can they be exported and imported? Just copy the job files?

Sorry totally knew to this product so I have no clue as to the process of unstalling the broken 8.0 and installing 8.03 without starting form scratch.

You can save the jobs, but it is recommended that you recreate them to ensure a clean upgrade. The uninstall process typically prompts you about saving your job files and history, but if you want to make sure they are saved see the process below.

To save the backup jobs:
1. Open Task Manager and end the VProTray.exe process
2. Open the Services window and stop the Backup Exec System Recovery service
3. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\ and copy the Schedule folder to another location.  If you want to preserve your history data you can copy the History folder as well.
4. Back in the Services window start the Backup Exec System Recovery service or you can start the uninstall process.

5. After the reinstall place the saved folder back into  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\
