Symantec System Recovery 2011 and Backup Exec 2010 R3

I attempted to have both of these products running on the same server with

Backup Exec being the initial install. After I installed System Recovery 2011,

Backup Exec 2010 R3 would no longer backup the 'C' drive, with the job failing

and error code 0xe0008488 - Access is Denied. There was a link to V-79-57344-33928

That article was of no use whatsover. I finally had to remove System Recovery 2011 in order

to get Backup Exec to complete the job with no errors.

Is Symantec aware of this?

The OS is Windows Server 2008 R2

Thanks!

I do not see the same issue here.

Can you please provide more details on exactly how the BE backup job is configured? Are you also backing up the System State and/or Shadow Copy Components?

Backup Exec 2010 R3 would no longer backup the 'C' drive, with the job failing

--> Are you talking about the C drive of the media server itself?

The media server backup includes all drives, System State and Shadow Copy. With

System Recovery installed I cannot backup the C drive. When I removed it, everything

went back to normal.

I have tried again by backing up the entire media server - still don't see any problems.

I wonder; were backups with SSR working before you uninstalled it? It could be that there was a problem with the SSR installation that caused this.

Either that or there is something specific to your environment that is causing this - this will require a support case so that it can be investigated further.
