Taking a long time to do full backup set

Anyone else here having this problem where unless they restart the backup exec services before the program is scheduled to create a full recovery set, it will take a long time to backup about  650GBytes (standard compression about 520GB) of image data?

By a long time I mean from 6am Saturday morning to Monday Morning 7isham.  Where as if I restarted the service before the backup ran it will finish late afternoon on Sunday.  Thats more then 12 hours difference.

The server which the software is installed on is a Dell Poweredge 2900 I believe and the data goes onto a network share on another server.
Backup exec does perform incremental backups 4 times a day during the weekdays.

8.03 pre-release have recently became available and can be obtained through Symantec technical support. This update is not yet available from the file connect site, but will be so soon. This update has corrected a number of network related issues and may address this slow performance issue you are describing.
