so there is not going to be a 2016 SP3? With Windows server 2016 support for site servers? I thought it was going to come out in january

Correct, there won't be an SP3 for VSR 16.

I assume you are referring to this 'limitation'? http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO125454

Yes I refer to the fact that the site server can run only on win2012r2, not win2016. Clients are supported, not the server. Server is supported on 8.1 SMP, that is not suppoerted by SSR16 as of SP2. I was told precedently that support will come with SP3 to be released in november. Later this was postpones to begining of 2018/january.

VSR 18 has support for SMP 8.1 (more details to follow tomorrow regarding VSR 18).

However, Symantec still don't support Windows 2016 as the host SMP server by the looks of it (http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO9965).
