After some testing I've discovered the following. Backup -> Appliance 1 Duplication -> Appliance 2 (no indentation) Duplication -> Tape (no indentation). This will duplicate the backup to both destination from the source appliance at the same time...

Finally cracked this - it was another firewall port which was closing itself even though rule was set to keep it open. Deleted firewall rule and it worked then. Thanks for the help.
