For one of the Netbackup client in exchange DAG configuration , backups are failing with below message.

This has nothing to do with SLP or duplication , This error is coming when robot is trying to mount tape on drive . Check at library end and the logs for detailed troubleshooting.
Restore can de done through San Client if backup is done through San client and SAN client configuration is done on client and FT media server.Suggest you to go through Netbackup admin guide for SAN Client.
ndmpagemt on media server communicate with NDMP host to start backup , if it is local NDMP than NDMP host sends data to tape and metadata to ndmpagent which sends to bpdbm , so it is in between you can check ndmpagent logs for more detail.
