It seems it was Kaspersky Antivirus's real-time scanner causing the Symantec CRF reporting to continually reinitialize. Once I added a AV exception to Kaspersky the BEserver.exe CPU usage has gone down to nothing. Cheers

This is a new server built only 2 weeks ago, and as it 2008 R2 .NET 3.5.1 is a feature of the OS, so at this stage I am thinking .NET 3.5.1 should be ok. I can give it a try if you think it is worth it, but I am thinking the MS report Viewer redist 2...
