RSM service will not start now after trying your solution. The event says i"Neither copy of the RSM database is consistent: Reconstructing using the main datafile." The serivice will not start.
A better solution is to use ProBack to backup the DB online to a file and then use Veritas to backup the file. ProBqack is very quick and does it without taking your DB down.
Ha, the answer was the Dell array manager and DSet and CIO was all fighting and once they were all uninstalled and the correct Dell Array MGR installed all problems were gone.
