Can I use Backup Exec for Windows Servers to backup a remote server running Small Business Server 2003? This would be perfect to backup to our local media server (B2D), we wouldn't need to install a tape drive out there.
I created Backup to Disk folders but when I attempt to backup to these folders, there is no actual "media" there. There is nothing to inventory, no media shows in these media sets, nothing. Help.
Is there any way to get the Disk to Tape to overwrite the tape without generating a prompt? The Duplicate job started as scheduled after the target job (Full Backup), but then sat there waiting for someone to say "Yes it is ok to overwrite this medi...
We would like to try the Backup Exec evaluation, but don't want to uninstall the current software, Arcserve. Would this work (if we turned off all of the Arcserve services, maybe?)
Yes, we are offlining the Monthly job to tape. I would like for one B2D folder to contain one backup job - Tuesday's job, for example, on one 'tape' or media in that folder. I don't want a lot of 1gb tapes, I want one tape for the whole job.
Are you switching to Arcserve, Trace? We are struggling with Arcserve, and it is not that big or complicated of a network - 6 servers, including one Exchange server and a media storage device, a couple of tape drives....
I think that you just need to enter the license key and you should be off and running. You will have actual support for a paid license, so shouldn't be a problem getting a quick answer to this.
OK, I will look at that and let you all know how it goes, most of my test run is over, but we are seriously looking at making a switch from arcserve, the test went really well.
