When you uninstalled, did you verify that the Program Files location was empty afterwards?

Do you have other mailboxes/accounts in the Outlook profile?

Where are you trying to archive/restore to/from?

Can you use an earlier client version on the same mailbox, go to the properties of the folder, and check on the Enterprise Vault tab what is set for the archiving information there?

Can you post a full client trace?

Can you post a full screenshot of Outlook?

It is a clean install and there is only one mailbox account in the outlook profil!

I can archive / Restore items using Outlook 2003 with EV9.0.1.

I don't post a screenshot because it's in French but the errors have been translated on the first post.

Can you include a trace from the client..  ie the client log file?

Is the logged on user, the same account as is associated with the archive? In other words, I login to my workstation as MyDomain\RobWilcox..  is that who has permissions to this archive?

Do you have other mailboxes listed in the Outlook profile?  They don't have other mailboxes added to the profile?

Looking at the Outlook 2010 profile itself, can you post a screenshot of that?  The screenshot is the Account Settings page, which lists the name, and type of account eg :

Did the user do File -> Open others users folder, and pick another user to try and archive from?

I'm also having this issue. Some users report that a re-install of the client fixes the issue, other users we need to get the 8.04 client again.

It is mentioned that re-entering the CAS-name fixes the issue. Where did you enter the CAS-name?

We've been working on 4 customers issues who all get the "You cannot archive items from this location" dialog.  We changing a method in our code to get around a problem that we can't reproduce, but have some theories on.

So I would ask :

* What version of Outlook is this on?

* What bit-ness is Outlook?

* What version of Windows is this on?

* What bit-ness is Windows?

* What version of Exchange is at the backend?  And Service Pack?

* What Operating System is Exchange on?

* Is this happening following a mailbox move?

* Is this all users?  Do new users work?

* If Exchange 2007 or higher, which roles are installed on the Exchange box (Mailbox, or mailbox, CAS, HT, etc, etc)
