0xe000fe2d - The backup of the item is bad

I get the following error with the backup of an Exchange 2003 SBS server.

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000fe2d - The backup of the item is bad.
Final error category: Resource Errors

I have gone to the relevent error page: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/261457.htm which has a registry fix, however in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup" there is not a "Fail Jobs on Corrupt Files" to change.

We are using Backup Exec 10d (10.1) - is there another spot where I can configure Backup Exec to not fail on this error?

There appears to be someone else who had asked the same question once before (in this thread: http://forums.veritas.com/discussions/thread.jspa?threadID=58940&messageID=4415329 ) but it is not answered.

Cheers,
Kim

Hello Kim,

Since when does the problem occur? You could stop the anti virus for test purposes and then verify the job status. Does the job always show the same files as corrupt?
