The scenario is as follows: I have 3 servers:

Server A: Backup Exec 10d running.
Server B: Windows 2003 Exchange Server
Server C: File Server.

I have no problems backing up Server A or Server C. When backing up Server B I sometimes get the error below.

Final error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred.
Final error category: Server Errors

I follow the link and it refers to ensuring that I am not backing up the Exchange M drive, which I am not. If I go through the job history the failure is sometime on the Information Store, other times on the C drive or the mailboxes. This is getting to get very frustrating. Does anyone have any possible answers?

Hello,

Please check if the remote Agent service is crashing during the backups! Also, ensure that the Backup Exec for Remote Agent service is running with the local System account. Also check out for any relevant event IDs on the Server C.
