11d Install Problem (x64bit edition Rev 6325)

Hi

 I have a problem with Backup exec 11d x64bit  edtion Install with Windows Server 2003 R2 Std x64 Edition.

Installation will fail at SQL instance install.

Error as

V-225-53 : ERROR: Failed to install SQL Express BKupexec instance with error 1706.

Does anyone have same issue?

Hi,

What is the error in the install log?

This normally represents missing files in the install.

Are you installing BE from files on the physical server? 

To install SQL the files do need to be on server, they can not be on a mapped drive or share.

 Thank you for your swift reply.

and Error was now fixed by Manual install of SQL 2005 express.

but i got other error now about Install of MXML4.0.

Did you remove the Backup Exec folder and the backup file from:

Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec

If so and it still failed, do you have MSML installed already on the server?

If so is it possible to uninstall it and allow Backup Exec to install it?
