32-bit Media Server and backup 64-bit Server

Hi

I will replace both of my domain controllers. There will be a Windows 2003 32-bit Server and a virtualized Windows 2003 64-bit Server. My Backup exec Media Server is Win2003 32-bit. Installing my Backup Exec Windows Agents on the 64-bit Server, will that work as usual, or is it necessary to buy a 64-bit agent?

If I need a special Agent, can I use my 32-bit license? Sorry, for my poor english, not my mother tongue Smiley Wink

Any help would be appreciated !

Greetings Soa44

Yes it will work . The remote agent license for 32 but as well as 64 bit server is same. Push installation of remote agent for 32 bit machine and 64 bit machine is same.

Local installation process :

Thank you very much for those links.

The Document 284968 is depending on the Backup Exec Version 10.d and is requirement only the following processor:

"It can be installed only on 64-bit Intel Itanium"

Still the same limitation on the new version 12.5?

Could be a problem because Software (Abacus) may not support "Intel Itanium"...

Thanks and have a nice Day!
