8.6 on W2K3 Server (Yes I know it's not compatible)

We have installed a new server running an OS that won't run BUE at all.

That being said, I need to put my tape drive on a machine that is running W2K3. Is there any way at all to use BUE 8.6 just to pull files from these tapes? It doesn't have to be very stable or extremely fast, just work well enough to retrieve the data. I can't justify the expense of version 9 or 10 just to pull old data ocassionally.

TIA,

Just setup a Win2K workstation with a SCSI card and plenty of RAM (256M should be sufficient) and use that as your "Archived Tapes" restore system (I ran two DLT7000s on a PII 266 for a while. wasn't a screamer of a system, but it worked)

I don't think there is any way at all to get v8.6 to install on W2K3

I didn't think there was a way, but just needed to check. Thanks for your input.
