9.1 backup does not over write media

I have the option checked but the backup will not overwrite media. I was getting it to work properly for a time scheduling an inventory of the drive, then an erase, followed by running backup. this worked well until the schedule to erase the drive disappeared from the job monitor screen. The erase drive line stills shows up in the job setup screen and shows to be scheduled. I am unable to erase the the schedule it states I cannot delete an active job.

Any ideas??

Change the OPP for the media set so that volumes have expired before they are due to be reused.

For dailies I set to 6 days, for weeklies 27 days etc
