9.1 email alerts

I've configured and enabled everything, yet no emails ever get sent after a job completes or an alert.

1) Alert Category is enabled
2) Configured Alert categories
3) Configured email and pagers - our domain SMTP server and the server has it's own active email address - server@"ourdomain.com"
4) Configured email recipients - me
5) Assigned recipients to alert categories

Yet, no notifications or emails. Any suggestions?

Does 9.1 have it's own built-email client or does it use Outlook(Express) via sockets or dll level. If so, do I have to configure an email account in Outlook for the server?

Hello,

There is no built-in email client. You will need to configure SMTP notifications. Ensure that you have followed the steps as per the technote below:
