Hi all,

We have been using Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 Rev 4691 for the past year and a half with out any problems. then about 4 months ago i started getting the following errors

Event ID: 33152

Adamm Mover Error: Unload Rewind Retry!
Error = ERROR_NOT_READY
Drive = "DELL 2"
{6DA2CB6E-4A97-433B-858D-18B7718B550B}
Media = ""
{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Read Mode: SingleBlock(0), ScsiPass(0)
Write Mode: SingleBlock(1), ScsiPass(1)

Adamm Mover Error: Unload Rewind Failure!
Error = ERROR_NOT_READY
Drive = "DELL 2"
{6DA2CB6E-4A97-433B-858D-18B7718B550B}
Media = ""
{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Read Mode: SingleBlock(0), ScsiPass(0)
Write Mode: SingleBlock(1), ScsiPass(1)

Now it doesnt affect my backups and everything is running fine except that my event viewer is full of these errors i get 2 of the warnings and one error every time a tape is put in or removed from the tape silo.

I have searched the web and came across this Veritas article which appears to be our problem. Now no offence but that is a poor resolution i can't just upgrade to Backup Exec 10 surely there is a patch or work around for those of us who are stuck using Backup Exec 9.1 for a little longer.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers Leigh

Sorry i should have put a bit more information in.

Q: Is this a standalone drive or a library ?
A: It is a Powervault 132T library with a single Dell PowerVault 110T-LTO2 tape drive

Q: have you also installed latest device drivers ?
A: I know i upgraded the tape silo firmware and a few other things but the device drivers are currently
Device: IBM Ultrium-TD2 SCSI
Driver Date: 3/03/2003
Driver Version: 6.0.1.2

Q: Check for any event logs for device .. either 7, 9 , 11 or 15
A: I have 2 logs for 9, 11, and 15's in the system log but they are for the network cards

Any other thoughts.Message was edited by:

Hello,

From the below link ,first check if your device is compatible.

If it is compatible then install the latest Veritas drivers

Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers (tm) 9.x (9.0, 9.1) Hardware Compatibility List. Includes HCL information for supported drives, libraries, virtual tape devices, fibre-channel HBAs, switches, routers/bridges, and iSCSI components. For printing purposes, the latest version of Acrobat is recommended

Thanks
