Adding Backup Exec Agent for Windows

Hello,

     I have a single 2003 server runing Backup Exec 2012 and will be adding another 2008 server to the domain.  It will be primarily the SQL database and programs.  I have purchased the Backup Exec 2012 Agent for Applications and Databases.  How do I install this?  I cannot see where to download the software.......It is our hope that we can back up the data on the second server to the USB attached Dell RD1000 device on the first server....perhaps you can point me to the relevant section is the users manual.....

Hoemee, 

         The agent is not downloaded and installed on the remote machine it is actually installed on the media server "backkupexec server". When you purchased the new agent you should have recieved a serial number for the agent. Clicking on the backup exec button in the top left corner, then installation and liscensing and install options and liscenses on this backup exec server will allow you to enter the serial number of the agent.  Please refer to page 76 in the 2012 admin guide "below".

Thank you - that is exactly what I was looking for - I have gotten the license installed.  Now, under the same installation and licensing tab, I noticed there is an option for "Install Agents and Backup Exec Servers on other Servers".......is this the next step in the process to install it on the second server we plan to add shortly?

After installing license key you need to push install Remote Agent on the remote server.

Since you are going to backup SQL refer to the link about SQL agent best practices.
