Adding additional licenses in Tools | Serial numbers and Installation. If other licenses keys are already listed and installed then you add a remote agent license - does it just install the remote licenses and ingore the previous license that was added. The install screen shows that previous license items to be installed. Is that the process for adding additional licenses?

The previously licensed items will remain. You just add new ones each time, you don't need to re-enter them all.

Basically, the software is smart enough to know that the product is already installed and won't try to reinstall it. Is that what you are telling me? In the NetWare version, one would just add the license key in the media manager.

If an agent was pushed out without a license, would it have to be reinstalled after the license was added to the media server or it would the media manager just pick up on that information?

Don't know about the Netware version, but in the Windows version, all the Agent Serial does is unlock the capability on the server.

If you enter one RemoteAgent serial, and then do 20 silent/local installs, all 20 remote agents will be accepted when a backup actually runs. it's your responsibility to have 1 remote agent serial for each remote server

This actually works out well if you have several media servers. If you need to run a special backup, you don't have to do it on the media server that "owns" the agent on that target machine.

Ken, can that be confirmed somewhere? I have 2 media servers. If they each backup the same servers (one is onsite and one is offsite for redundancy), do they each need 30 licesnses for example or do we only need to buy 30 licesenses for both media servers to share? If so, does any of this change in version 11.d?
