Administration console

I'm using veritas backup exec both v8.6 and v10.  Can one administration console be configured to administer both versions? Are there any special administration consoles that can administer different versions of backup exec?

Unfortunately the 10D console cannot manage 8.6 and the 8.6 console cannot manage 10D.

There used to be a product called ExecView that might have been able to monitor job statuses across both server types, but it could not configure jobs etc. Also as ExecView suffered from Lack of development and Backup Exec 8.6, 10.x and ExecView are all end of life and are also either End of support or in Partial Support (which means no further changes to the software) it is strongly recommended that you consider updating your environment to a consistent, supported level.

hi, The Administration Console in Backup Exec can only control Backup Exec servers of the same version. If you have multiple Backup Exec servers with different versions, you must maintain different installations of the Administration Console
