Advanced Open File capability on server with Backup Exec installed

Hi,

I was wondering if I would have the capability to backup open files on the server in which the Backup Exec v12 server is installed (all parts of the software is installed on one server)?  Or do I have to purchase the advanced open file option to do this?

I know that with the agent to backup remote servers, the advanced open file option is included, but didn't know if it is included on the server in which the software is installed.

Thanks!

I think it is.  The Agents and Options page
lists an "AOFO for Netware", but no "AOFO for Windows"

probably worth a call to Symantec Sales  <shrug>

Yes, AOFO is now included with BE12 - both the media server and the remote agents (hence why the cost of remote agent licenses has gone up - you pay for AOFO and IDR even if you don't use them).
The documentation is quite poor at reflecting this though.
