uuhhhmmmmm.... if you catalog the tape, and what you're looking for is not listed, then, i guess is not in that tape!

it is, because the backup list and protocol says there has been no error during the backups, and they were in the list for restore before the old catalog file was deleted.

Check this article: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/191281.htm

It talks about BeTopCat.idx being corrupted.

(solution is just this:

1. Quit VERITAS Backup Exec (tm)
2. Click Control Panel | Services, and stop all the Backup Exec services
3. Delete the BeTopCat.idx file located in the \BackupExec\NT\CATALOGS folder
4. Delete all the temporary files from the CATALOGS folder:

a. *.TMP
b. *.SM (temporary CATALOG files)
c. *.FDD (temporary CATALOG files)
d. QTC*.* (temporary CATALOG files)

5. Click Control Panel | Services, and restart all the Backup Exec services.
)

Let me know if it works.
