An error occurred while scanning the catalogs

Restore fails with the following error message:

(Server: "ESERVER") (Job: "Restore 0093") Restore 0093 -- The job failed
with the following error: An error occurred while scanning the catalogs.
The job will not continue.

Please check for the following:
- low virtual memory conditions
- a corrupt or truncated catalog
- that the media you are restoring has not been overwritten

I have checked the amount of Virtual memory and it seams to be file, I have re-catalogued the tape, I have cleared all the files in the catalogue folder, restarted Backup Exec, and re-booted the server, and still the restore job fails immediatly with the above error.
We are runnibg Windoes 2000 server with BackupExec 9.1

Any Ideas?

Hi

This could also be an Inconsistency on your Backup Exec Database.
Use the Beulity.exe , u can check the consistency & also repair the Database.

problem solved.

I usually just modify an existing restore job for the new files to be restored, and source backup. It seems that the restore job that I keep re-using has gotten corrupted. I created a new restore job ant it worked fine.

Thanks for your help.
