Automatically detect new tapes

Hello,

We are using BEWS 9.1, with a Dell Robotic Tape Library and a Barcode Reader. Is there a way to get BE to recognize automatically when we import tapes to the robot? Usually, we have to highlight all the slots and click "Scan," which we are doing every day because of the size of our backup jobs and the size of our library. Is this something that can be automated so that all that needs to be done is the changing of the tapes and no login to the server is necessary?

You could use BEMCMD and run a script through Windows Task Scheduler to inventory all your slots, set to run after you regularly swap tapes and before the backups run

Is this the same as scheduling a job to inventory the drive through the GUI?

BEMCMD is a command line utility that lets you do all kinds of stuff through scripts

Do a "BEMCMD /? > BEMCMD.TXT" to get a list of switches and their uses
