B2D media not filling up

Hi,

I've been noticing that some of our B2D files are about 170k in size and is reported as full, not appendable. When I browse to the folders, there are several files ranging from  about 73kb in size to about 170kb in size.   The size limit for the B2D files is 200GB. Will veritas fill up the media to the max allowed?

Depends on the setting for maximum number of backup sets per bkf file. 

 If the setting is at 1, then no, if it is anythinghigher, and an append job of the same media set runs within the Append period, then yes, it should continue writing to one of the small BKF files

If all your jobs are overwrite, then no, the small BKF files will remain small
