B2D2T - but clear off the b2d files from disk once they make it to tape...

Hi all -

I am getting ready to setup a B2D2T solution... I am playing around with policies / templates to achieve this, but once a backup set is completed to disk, when I write that to tape (either immediately or delayed), I would like to reclaim the disk space used for the original B2D - so really, instead of "duplicate to tape" I would like to "sweep the files off to tape"... I am not seeing any options in the templates for this? Is there a good trick that anyone knows of to make this happen?

(hey - disk may be cheap, but I still never seem to have enough!) smiley

Thanks,

D

You have to either remove them manually or configure the media set for the jobs going to disk. You can set the OPP for the b2d media set in such a way that it start overwriting once the duplication is done. It depends when you duplicate the data on the tape.
