Storage device "HP 1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.
Error reported:
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
This could be caused by either a dirty tape drive, bad media, or a SCSI problem.V-79-57344-34028 - Error reading/writing data from/to the media.
I have tried cleaning the tape drive with Tape Driver cleaner but still have not achieved anything
The backup goes up to a certain percentage befor the job is terminated with the same error
I changed the tape and used a new tape but still have not achieved any positive reults
any help

Hi,
I guess your tape drive is faulty.
Test your drive eoth HP TapeTools.
Try to reboot your server and library, and test again, but I think this is not solve you issue.
If possible you can test to connect your tape/library to another scsi channel
I think you have to change your drive.

Check the tape properties, there may be hard read\write errors.
Also check the event viewer for any errors related to the hardware.

Hi,
on all the tapes the wwww
Are you getting cyclic redundancy check error on all the tapes if no then that particular tape is faulty if you recd this error on all the tapes then download the Library and Tape Tool from HP website and installed it on backup server and test the drive and tape.
