Hello,
hopefully somebody will help me out here.
I Cannot get an Tandberg 420 LTO2 HH tapestreamer to work under Veritas BE 10.d

System:
Supermicro Superserver 7044H-82R
dual Xeon 3,6 GhZ
4 GB memory ECC
windows 2003 SBS SP1
Tandberg 420 LTO HH Tapestreamer

I have tried the following:
Device drivers from tandberg, device drivers from veritas, Device ID changed. But the drive is only visible in removable storage management in windows.
Backup Exec won't recognize the tape streamer.

I can start a backup win NTbackup.

Executed the diagnostics in veritas. In the log the tapestreamer is detected.

Help me here...I've tried everything...

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

First of all verify if your device is detected by windows. If windows detects the device then can only Backup Exec detect it .

From the following hardware compatibility list please check if the device is tested. If it is tested then install latest Veritas drivers ,else install OEM drivers.

Stand Alone Drive Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for VERITAS Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers
http://support.veritas.com/docs/274347
Robotic Library Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) for VERITAS Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers (includes tested drives)
http://support.veritas.com/docs/274348

Thanks,

The device is detected by windows.
The drive is also on the HCL. with status ' tested'

So I installed the veritas drivers. Rebooted the system.
Everything seems to be ok, but when I run the device configuration wizard, BE does NOT detect the tapestreamer.

The only thing that alarms me is the following: in the HCL: http://support.veritas.com/docs/274347
at the bottom, the supported OS doesn't include the 2003 SBS. Only the standard, enterprise en datacenter versions of windows 2003. Could this be something to worry about?

hope to hear from u soon.

Extra info:

Screenshots of the configuration. If more needed, please ask.

PS: the red cross through the library in Removable Management Console is because the veritas drivers are loaded.
With other server, the red cross is also there and veritas has no problems detecting the tapedrive. These other server have sony tapestreamers.
So the red cross is nothing to worry about

this server is our first with the tandberg.Message was edited by:
