Hi All,
I just noticed that my BE server has had backup jobs stuck in a queued state for 157+ hours. It's been doing this for quite awhile now, but now I'm sick of it and want to address the problem.
In the past my fix was to reboot the server. It would run fine for 2 weeks to 2 months and then jobs would get stuck in queued again.
Here's the rundown on what I've tried / checked so far
Here's the latest from the debug monitor:

Hello,
To fix this issue make sure 'all' of your live updates have been run.
SP3 fixes a number of Deduplication issues http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH208601

We dont have anything associated to Deduplication(PVLSVR) logged.
Since client-side Deduplication is in use, please refer to the Event Viewer for the Event ID mentioned in the following article. If it matches then perform the steps as mentioned in it: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH174741

Updated to SP3 - still have issue.
sidd3009 - It doesn't appear that the tech note is related to my issue.

Stuck in queued again.. Looks like this happens about every 7 days.
Problem seems to have gotten worse with SP3.

use sgmon.exe and select first checkbox, device and media (from tools-> Settings-> Click device and media -> select verbose) capture to file
Start the Job and let it run for 20 minutes. Provide the SGMON.log.
Check if this can be the case (Refer www.symantec.com/docs/TECH174741)

I finally got fed up with this and called "support". We updated to SP4, which doens't appear when you use the live update tool - you have to search for it.
I've got a ticket open and have spent a more than 8 hours on the phone (over almost 2 weeks) trying to get this issue resolved.
This *might* relate to using client side deduplication during backups. We'll see.

...still working with support. I'll keep this thread updated in hopes that it might help someone
So - it's hard to detremine if this is a client side dedupe issue or not. I'm thinking not.
My media server is running 8 jobs at the same time to the same dedupe target. Support's theroy is that this is overwhelming the dedupe target and making everything hang.
I'm shocked that support is telling me that BE2010 cannot run 8 simultaneous jobs to the same target. It's only backing up about 100 GB at most...
So now I'm going through the process of re-enginering my entire backup routine to stagger my jobs.
At this point I truely believe that support is taking wild guesses at to what the problem might be, and hoping I'll just give up and leave them alone.

did you eventually get this fixed ? adamm.log can provide you some valuable info. Attach it if you are still running into this problem
