BE 2010 Freezes Win 2008 Server

I'm trying to run a full backup to a NAS on a Win 2008 Server with BE 2010.   The backup runs fine until about 95% completion when all network services stop working.  I can ping the Win 2008 server but that's about it. 

 

Any ideas?

Do you see any error message in the event viewer of the media server ?

It looks like it's choking when it starts the System State Backup.   It then hangs the entire server, requiring a forced shutdown.

 

In BE, I get an error code:  E008821

 

In the Event log I see:

An error occurred while processing a B2D command.
 Drive: ReadFMTable() CreateFile failed (\\backup\Folder.cfg).  Error=2

An error occurred while processing a B2D command.
 Drive: OpenPosMTF() CreateFile failed (\\backup\B2D000378.bkf).  Error=2
