BE 2010: Media Sets, Devices with D2D2T Backup

Hello Everybody, I'm testing Backup Exec with a 1/8 G2 Autoloader by HP with a 1760 Ultrium Tape device. I'm experiencing some problems getting my backup setup in the right way. I have a file server which runs Backup Exec 2010. The capacity of the FileStore is about 4TB. A full backup of my servers is about 2TB. The Disk Space is RAID5. The Backup speed is fine, but the verify is very slow. My Backup speed is around 3gb/min. Verify is somewhere around 250mb/min. No Antivirus is installed on that server. My next question is about the tapes and the retention time. Every Friday i will preform a Full Backup and every weeknight i will preform a Differential Backup. I want to use GFS rotation scheme so there will be a month backup also. I created 3 folders on the data drive: Daily, Weekly and Monthly. The backup is written to the disk and then written to tape. How should i partition the tape slots? What should teh retention be for the backups on the disk? I hope you can help me with this issue. Thanks in Advance. Marcel the Netherlands

Refer the following information for the backup disk issue
How to correct slow backup performance, slow virus or pre-job scans, and agent initialization problems on heavily fragmented Windows Server Hard Disk Partitions

Run the Backup to Disk Test Tool on the B2D Target Machine.

Check the Disk Cache Settings on the B2D Target Machine.  Depending on the machine's hardware and role in the network, disk caching may need to be either enabled or disabled to improve the backup performance.  For more information on this, review the following Microsoft Articles:
