Hello,
I have a customer that is running MS SBS 2011 standard and Backup Exec 2010 R3. They are experiencing an intermittent backup issue of Exchange 2010. Windows and BE are patched up to 10/4/2011. According to Symantec's website this issue was resolved in BE 2010 R2.
V-79-57344-759 Unable to complete the operation for the selected resource using the specified options. The following error was returned when opening the Exchange Database file: '<n/a>'
When I follow the v-79-57344-759 link it brings me to:

The first error code lookup is the same as my issue, except it is referencing Exchange 2007. This link:
tells us that this issue was fixed in Backup Exec 2010 R2 Hotfix 143746
I am at a loss on this one. The backup used to work fine, again the issue is intermittent, once every 5-7 days it reports a failure.

This issue is also reported in BE 2010 R3 and there is a non-public pre-release fix available for which a formal support case should be logged.
