There are several problems with my BE 9.1 (revision 1158).
First, it has stop appending to the backup tapes even though there are a lot of space on those tapes.
Secondly, when BE started, the two tape drives (two-drive library) are always disabled. Also the partitions for the 20 slots are all disabled. I have to manually enable the tape drives and the partitions.
I have re-installed the media server and changed the mode from "Media Management Mode" to "Partition Management Mode". But still when I try to use "Append to media, terminate job if no appendable media available.", the backup job terminated after loading the tape and trying to negotiate the block size on the tape. If I select "Append to media; overwrite if no appendable media available", the backup will always overwrite the previous day's backup. I checked the append policy. It allows for infinite append.
Any one know of how to fix these two problems. I appreciate your help.
