BE12 will not recognise when a tape leaves the drive or a new one is inserted.

Upon Reboot it will sometimes show that the tape is removed. Some times it shows that the tape is still in the drive when it has been ejected.

Sometimes it helps if i restart services. It will "refresh" the media sectoin and see the new tape. Sometimes it will show that there is the old tape in or no tape at all.

I have installed the symantic driver several times.

Poweredge 2950
PV 100T-DAT72 Tape Drive
Windows Server 2008

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

In my experience, whenever you change a tape, you need to inventory the drive/slot

Also, are you current on Firmware and Drivers for the controller and drive (and loader if there is one)

The issue was with needing to inventory the drive/slot.

Thank You.
