BE2010 Licensing: Shared Library + FC SAN backup + NDMP backup+ SSO...

Hi,

Here is the context:

• 2x BE 2010 Media Server connected on FC SAN;
• 1x Library with (2x FC-LTO-4 drives + Robot) connected on FC SAN;
• 1x NAS with FC SAN connection + NDMP option;

I wish to dedicate one FC-LTO drive from the library to the NAS (NDMP backup) and to use one FC-LTO drives for SAN backup.

Do I need to buy a "SAN Shared Storage Option" (SSO) in order to use the NDMP backup via FC SAN?

Yes you need to Buy the SAN  License in order to share the library and the backup to run thru FC SAN. If you just have the NDMP license the data would not be backed up via SAN
