I suspect the problem is caused by VMware Workstation 8 not supporting Win 8/2012:

https://www.vmware.com/support/ws80/doc/releasenotes_workstation_805.html

SDR in BE 2014 uses WinPE 4.0 I believe which is based on Windows 8/2012, as per:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Preinstallation_Environment

I think you will need to upgrade VMware Workstation to at least version 9 to get this working .....

I suspect you might be the first to report this - certainly wans't mentioned during the beta testing.  As such time to log a formal support call.

Could you provide a little more detail about the machine you are booting ther CD in?

Is it virtual or physical?

If virtual what virtuial environmen (Hyper-V, Vmware + version) is it running in?

If physical what is the actual hardware? (Server model, Network card model, SCSI card for drives etc)

Thanks I'll check back with the team that suggested that virtualization might be the cause of your problem
