BEDB Maintenance

Hi All,

I constantly see this message under Alert tab - "Database Maintenance Information - Summary of database maintenenace activity". I believe this is for BEDB. The alert is always received at 4am.

What trigger this activity? Is this auto schedule? Not configurable?

BEDB maintenance is done daily at 4 a.m. by default.  As implied by the name of the alert, this is when BE does maintenance on its database.  If you do not like the 4 a.m. default time, you can change it by going to Tools ---> Options ---> Database maintenance.

You should not turn off BEDB maintenance.  It is needed for the health of BE.

BEDB maintanence involves,

1. Taking backup of the BEDB
2. Consistency check on BEDB
3. Delete expired data such as old job hisotries, alert histories, reports, etc. and the expiry thresholds are configurable.
4. Database size optimization.
