BUE 12.0 - does SP4 require a reboot?

Can anyone tell me if SP4 for BUE 12.0 forces a reboot?  I'm still having the issue of 9mb/min backups failing, and it looks like our 12.0 BUE server hasn't got a single service pack on it.

Hello,

No symantec Software will "FORCE REBOOT" any operating system, you will be prompted to reboot the server, you can QUIT with reboot.

After the REBOOT you need to update all the Remote Agents by re-pushing them. A REBOOT is required before pushing the remote agents.
