Backing Up SharePoint Resources

Good Day,

I am trying to get Vertias 10 Rev. 5484 to backup my SPS. I have two network cards in my server one for internal and one for external traffic and it is a full SharePoint Portal Server not WSS. We have installed the Agent for SPS and it backs up all of our other 4 databases but gets caught up on the database called Index DB_1. Here is the exact exception error;

Backup- http://tpsrv18\Index DB 1 (TPSRV18) The item http://tpsrv18\Index DB 1 (TPSRV18)\http://tpsrv18\Index DB 1 (TPSRV18) in use - skipped.

If someone could help me out on this I would greatly appreciate it. I am totally stuck on this and am out of ideas.

Hi,

In order to troubleshoot the issue please update us on the same :

1.Index DB_1 is on the same server as the other DB´s?
2. if not then you have to install RAWS on the remote servers.
3.We would recommend you to upgrade to BEWS 10.0.5520 and update all the remote agent once again.

I will update the software this weekend and try a backup. The databases are all on one server as well.

I will probably post tomorrow if the update fixed anything.

Hi,

I updated my software to BEWS 10.0.5520 and all of the remote agents this weekend and the backup is still kicking back the error message "The item http://server\Index DB 1 (server)\http://server\Index DB 1 (server) in use - skipped.
".

Any other ideas as to what is bringing on this error message?

I was wondering if you have any other ideas at this point. Veritas still isn't' touching the Index DB 1 database.
