Backing up DiskXtender stub files

Usign BE 11d and trying to backup a CIFS share that contains DiskXtender stub files.  The backup is retrieving the data instead of backing up the stub (metadata).
 

http://support.veritas.com/docs/251162 -- this is old, but I assume the "fix" would be carried forward.

 

Any suggestions for me to look at on the BE end of this?

Sorry for the delay Jay.
 
DiskXtender is what controls the data and what Backup Exec backs up.
I was attempting to find more information on EMC's website but I was not successful.
 
I would recommend contacting them, if they feel that Symantec should be involved at that point it is best to have a conference call with EMC, Symantec and yourself.
